The end
September 13, 2007
Do you know when you are going to die. Ahab the King of Israel felt he was safe enough to go into battle but for protection, he had the King of Judah go with him in Kings robes while he went in a regular soldiers clothing. He felt this way that he would have double protection for the enemy soldiers would go after the royal figures and leave the common solider alone. Well they chased after the King of Judah and recognized him, then stopped the chase. Then an interesting thing happens:
2Ch 18:33 BBE
(33) And a certain man sent an arrow from his bow without thought of its direction, and gave the king of Israel a wound where his breastplate was joined to his clothing; so he said to the driver of his war-carriage, Go to one side and take me away out of the army, for I am badly wounded.
Can you believe that? Ahab had been avoiding death but it wound up looking at him straight in the face. He died that day, by sundown.
We do not know when the end is coming. We may say that we can stop this habit or that, but the truth is, we do not know if we will have enough time. Maybe we need to stop doing those things that grieve God when we do them. Get a Christian friend and have them work with you as an accountability partner. Stop offending God, the time is short.
