Who do you say that I am? Answer real quick if you can.

October 20, 2008

There is a question that we all need to answer. As Christians we supposedly have answered it. But there are many people who profess to be Christians that avoid it. Jesus asked it of Peter:

Luke 9:18-20 GNB
(18) One day when Jesus was praying alone, the disciples came to him. "Who do the crowds say I am?" he asked them.
(19) "Some say that you are John the Baptist," they answered. "Others say that you are Elijah, while others say that one of the prophets of long ago has come back to life."
(20) "What about you?" he asked them. "Who do you say I am?" Peter answered, "You are God's Messiah."

C. S. Lewis, yes, the one who wrote the Narnia series, said that everyone has to decide at one time if Jesus was a liar, a lunatic or if He was Lord. That is a question that you will have to decide also. If you are not a Christian, you have to look at it and say why would people follow a mad man or a liar. If you are a Christian, you have to decide if you are going to call Him Lord or not. In not doing so you now run your own life with all its faults. Personally I have made enough of a mess of my own life.
