Are you walking in the blessings?

October 4 2008

Mark 1:30-31(MKJV)

30 But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and at once they told Him (Jesus) about her.

31 And He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up. And instantly the fever left her, and she served them.

I once heard Jessie Duplantes tell a story about this verse. His mother in law was a real cranky woman till she accepted Jesus as her savior. She knew enough about the word though and this verse was one verse she knew. One day when she very sick she called for Jessie to come heal her and quoted from this verse to him, just not all of it. Jessie came and prayed for her and then told her to get up and fix him some food. She started to complain, but he interrupted her and said something like, if you were OK with the first part, how come your do not want to do the second part?

Some important though there. We are so quick to stand upon the promises of God, but what are we goings to do with the results when they come? If you pray for a healing are you going to tell others about the healing to they can know a God that heals also? If you are seeking prosperity, are you going to use some of it to spread the Gospel?

If the results are not coming in like you need then to, maybe you need to look back at the last time God favored you and see if you used the result to further His kingdom.
