June 7, 2007 - Faith Mountain

Faith Mountain

Faith can be a powerful force. The thing is to continue to use it even when it does not look like things will change. I can remember a story that Rev. Charles Capps used to tell. In it, a neighbor had to dig a foundation for the home he was building and had put a mountain of dirt at the side of his property, right outside Capps's window. He got upset about it, talked to the man, and nothing was done. Then one day, he read this verse:

Mat 21:21 KJV
(21) Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

So he spoke to the mountain to be picked up and to be moved away. Every day, for a few days he did this. Then one day, a big truck showed up, loaded that mountain of dirt up and drove off with it. You might say it was coincidence, or you might say it was faith. Either way, faith seemed to move that mountain.
