Jesus and the Mega-church

February 13, 2009

The life of Jesus. Read Today: Jesus preaches in the Synagogues: Matthew 4:23-25; Mark 1:39; Luke 4:44

Matthew 4:23-24 ESV
23 And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people.
24 So his fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains, those oppressed by demons, epileptics, and paralytics, and he healed them.

I talk some about mega-churches. It seems that a lot of people have problems with them. Yet we see that when Jesus had church, He had a mega-church. People came from all over to meet with Him. But He also took time to minister in smaller settings like the woman at the well.

One size does not fit all. What works for one does not necessarily work for all. Find what God wants you to do or to be and put your hand to the plow there.

Read for tomorrow: Jesus preaches in Simon's boat: Luke 5:1-3
