What makes a man great?

May 1, 2008

2 Samuel 5:9-10 Darby
(9) So David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from the Millo and inward.
(10) And David became continually greater; and Jehovah the God of hosts was with him.

David has now become the King as Saul is dead. He did not become the king right away, he had to take time to unite Israel. The man of God needs to be someone who unites people to his vision. The people then gave the kingdom to him.

More important though was the reason why David continued to grow. God was with him. God never leaves us, we walk away from Him by our own free will. If you want to do something for God however, you need to be near to Him. And when that happens, great things can happen. Not only in your bank account but in the lives of changed people around you.
