Promise with a price

May 26, 2008

Psa 144:12-15
(12) Let's pray that our young sons will grow like strong plants and that our daughters will be as lovely as columns in the corner of a palace.
(13) May our barns be filled with all kinds of crops. May our fields be covered with sheep by the thousands,
(14) and every cow have calves. Don't let our city be captured or any of us be taken away, and don't let cries of sorrow be heard in our streets.
(15) Our LORD and our God, you give these blessings to all who worship you.

God wants us to have children who are a blessing and will be a blessing. He want us to be prosperous and live at peace. But all of God's promises and desires for us come at a cost. This is a simple but a costly one. He wants us to worship Him.

No, not a weak raising of the hands as you sing under your breath. Your whole life should be filled with the abundance of His love. You should be walking along and have a song be on the edge of your lips. You should be thinking of a problem and say to your friend, 'hey God what do you think I should do.'

When God becomes that real, the promises will start flowing.
