May 24, 2007 - Progression in sin

May 24, 2007

Psa 1:1 KJV
(1) Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Did you know that sin is progressive. It starts one place and moves on to others. As we see here, the first thing that sin does in walk where ungodly council is. What does that mean? Well in the days it was written, it meant getting advice from people who were not wise in the way of God. It has not changed, it is the same today, but it has changed a great deal.

Think about where you get your advice. For example as I write this it is raining out. Where did I get the advice to not hang out clothes, to now plan to cut the grass, etc.? I got it from the TV weatherman. This is not the only advice that I get from the TV, or many other sources either. I am not saying bury your head in the sand and watch nothing but Christian TV but be aware of what you are viewing.

Next step in progression is the stand with sinners. What types of places that you go to are important. Lastly they sit in the seat of those who scorn people, or actually be in their place.

It is a slippery slope. Where are you on it right now?
