Give thanks

My kids could always tell when I read Psalm 136. If you do not know what I mean take a look at it. All the verses in it end the same way, 'His mercy (love) endureth forever.' But in that sing song set of verses we can easily lose focus on the real truth that it is teaching us.

Psalms 136:1 KJV
(1) O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Every line of that Psalm gives us something to be thankful about. Yet each day we go through the same thing over and over again. We look to other things to make us happy not seemingly having enough. Another job, a new TV a new car, all those will make me happy and then I could be thankful.

God does not work that way. Look to what He provides us and then we will truly learn 'his love endures forever.'
