Flies

Ecclesiastes 10 (AMP)
1 DEAD FLIES cause the ointment of the perfumer to putrefy [and] send forth a vile odor; so does a little folly [in him who is valued for wisdom] outweigh wisdom and honor.
Do you have dead flies in your perfume? Most of you would look at a bottle and say no. But I am sure that many of us do. Our praise is to be a sweet smelling sacrifice to God. It is to be a perfume to Him. So I ask again, do you have flies in your perfume? Can God take pleasure in your prayer and praise? Or is there something in life that stinks.
We all justify sin in our lives. We may share gossip about someone in the name of praying for them. We may justify an affair because our spouse does not love us anymore. We may treat family members bad for long periods of time because they have treated us wrong. In the end, though we feel we are right in these and many other situations, we are wrong. And in doing so we add dead flies to our prayer and praise.
If you have a hard time worshiping sometimes, maybe you need to see if there are some flies around.
