Eph 2:8 (MKJV)

8 For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God,

I was raised in a denomination that that made you work for your salvation. Not only did I have to live a right life doing things, but when I reached a certain age I had to go to a person and tell him what I had done wrong.

Somehow, when it comes to this verse they seemed to gloss over it and focus on others. It is something we all tend to do so I do not fault them at all.

We can do nothing to obtain salvation except to believe we have it. Only then will we have it. It is a gift. Quit trying to earn it in your life. God has given it to you so just reach out and take it like you would a person giving you a gift.
