Helping the poor

Deuteronomy 15:10-11 CEV
(10) You should be happy to give the poor what they need, because then the LORD will make you successful in everything you do.
(11) There will always be some Israelites who are poor and needy. That's why I am commanding you to be generous with them.

You should always help the poor. God is not referring to people who will not work, or who think they are entitled to something because of who they are. He is talking here about the widows and the orphans. If it was today it would be the family that lost a job or they have lost the main bread winner in the family due to illness or death.

What is the result of helping these people. They will make you successful. Not them really, God will, you receive that blessing because you have blessed them.
