Blessings

January 28, 2008

As we have been reading through he Bible, we have followed Jacob as he lost his son Joseph and now finds him and goes to live with him. As he is leaving, God speaks to him one more time. He tells him to go to Egypt, all will be well and the nation that will come from him will grow there. As Jacob goes and does as he is told, he now takes the name given to him when he wrestled with God, Israel. Israel and his sons go to Joseph and he tells them exactly what to do when they talk to Pharaoh.

That must have seemed hard, even though he was the man in charge. His own dad had to put him self under the authority of the son. He had to do not only what God told him to do but what his son told him to do. There are times in your life when God is going to put you under the authority of someone else. They may be older and more wiser than you are, or they may be younger. No matter what, if God put you there, there is a reason. Do what is asked of you and great things will happen.

Genesis 47:27 BBE
(27) And so Israel was living among the Egyptians in the land of Goshen; and they got property there, and became very great in numbers and in wealth.
