Protection

August 12, 2007

Eph 6:10-13 KJV
(10) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
(11) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
(12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
(13) Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Our battles are never against people, though sometimes it may seem like it. Out battles are against Satan. We need to make sure that we fight him not people.

If we are going to stand up to Satan, we need to put on protection. We can defeat him, but we need help. We need to get the proper safety equipment on.

Is safety equipment important? You had better believe it. A few weeks ago I was watching a NASCAR race and one of the competitors had a tire go down and 180 MPH. He slammed into the wall so hard it broke something in the engine and oil and gas spilled out. A big fire resulted in the car. Now that hard a crash would have killed him normally and the fire would have burned him up. In stead, the restraining system held him in place so his body did not break and the fire suit he wore kept him from getting burned. All he came out of it with was a singed eyebrow.

Racers would not think of getting in the car without the protection they need. As Christians, God has provided something more important. Don't you think we should put it on daily?
