The Gospel

August 7, 2007

Gal 1:6-7 EMTV
(6) I marvel that you are turning so quickly from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel,
(7) which is not another; except there are certain people who trouble you and wish to pervert the gospel of Christ.

How often do we as Christians go seeking the latest and greatest from the hot preachers out there and hang on every word that they say. I have listened to a few of the 'name' preachers over the years. I recently listened to an old tape I had of one. What he preached then contradicts what he preaches now. The message of Jesus Christ dieing for our sins is the same, but the sub message of healing, prosperity, etc. has changed. He even mentioned it in one of his recent sermons, he had it all wrong years ago.

God's Word does not change. I am not saying that the prosperity message, the healing message or any other message is wrong. The one thing that always needs to be preached is Jesus Christ crucified for our sins. If that is not a part of the message preached it is not the Gospel. And we need to make sure that we preach it to others as well.
