What do you wish?

2 Chronicles 1:7 NET
(7) That night God appeared8 to Solomon and said to him, "Tell me what I should give you."


Wow, what a question. What do you want me to give you? And it comes from the God of the universe. The God who could give you anyhing. What would you ask for.

Maybe a nice home, money, or some creature comfort. Maybe world peace, or a healthy planet to live on. Maybe if you were poor it would just be your next meal.

As we know, Solomon asked for something for himself. Or did he? He asked for wisdom. Obviously that was for himself. He wanted wisdom so he could be the smarest person on earth. No, he wanted wisdom so that he could rule God's people wisely. But even with that wisdom he made mistakes. Still he was a good king and took care of God's people. And that is what he wanted the wisdom for in the first place.

If God was to give you whatever you wanted, what would you ask for.
