Working your faith

Galatians 2:16 (Common)
16 yet who know that a man is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ, and
not by works of the law, because by works of the law will no flesh be justified.
There is not one work that we can do to earn our salvation. If a work could have been done, then why would Christ have had to die in the first place. No, works cannot save you. We should not throw them out however. My Church every year at Christmas time does a outreach to the poor people in our city. It is good and right to do those things, but in and of themselves, all they do is give you a good feeling. Jesus does command us to do these works. But there is not salvation in them.
As we approach the holidays, remember to do the good works that we are to do. Remember though, they are not the way to heaven.
