How poor

Leviticus 12:8 KJV
(8) And if she be not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make an atonement for her, and she shall be clean.
A poor woman, so she could return to worship God after giving birth to a son, was required to bring an offering. She was supposed to bring a lamb, but if they could not do so, she was to bring a pair of turtle doves.
Luke 2:24 KJV
(24) And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.
Jesus took the splendor of the universe and gave it up to be born of parents that were poor. Yes we know that He did not stay that way, but His beginning was so very humbling.
God does love us so much that he sent His son to take care of us. And He came, even though the change in His way of being must have been so drastic.
