(24) And he sent his brothers away; and they went. And he said to them, Do not quarrel along the way.

Joseph has been reunited with his brothers. He has revealed himself to them and he is sending them back to get dad and come back. What does he say to them as they leave? 'Don't fight!'

Even though he saw how they had changed, he knew their nature, he knew that they would pick at each other on the way home. Maybe something like, 'if you had not come up with the idea to sell him maybe this famine would not have happened.' What ever it was, it was their nature. Joseph had had the advantage of trusting God all along, they had not.

Do not expect people to change overnight when they become Christians. It just does not happen. There is too much of the former nature in them. But gentle nudge them along as they go.
