A loaf of bread for God

February 14, 2007

Leviticus 5:11 Darby
(11) But if his hand cannot attain to two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, then he that sinned shall bring for his offering the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin-offering: he shall put no oil on it, neither shall he put frankincense thereon; for it is a sin-offering.

This is the tail end of what God was giving to Moses about what to do when you sin, what type of offering to give. It starts by sacrificing either a cattle, sheep, or goat. If the person cannot afford it he is to give a offering of a pair of turtle doves. Lastly, if they still cannot afford that, they are to take flour as an offering.

Everyone in those days could afford flour. It would be the equivalent of us giving God a loaf of bread.

God wants all of us to come to Him. It does not matter if you have money, are middle class, or poor, He wants you where you are at.
