15 Minutes of Fame

14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee, and his fame went out through all the region round about.


When you walk in the power, people will notice you. It says that His fame went throughout the region. Fame is a strange thing. Fame can be for something that you admire, or for something you do not. Fame is just that, people noticing you.

Jesus had fame, we always want to see it as the good kind and wonder why we cannot walk in that good fame as well. But we know, in the end, not everyone admired Jesus for what He did, some hated him for it.

Years ago, someone once said that we will all be famous for 15 minutes. As we see story after story play out on cable news channels we can see that has happened. Some become known for the good things they have done, like landing a plane on a river and getting everyone out of the plane safely. Some for the bad that they did, like killing a child so they can have more personal time.

I pray that when I have my 15 minutes of fame, that it will be for that good kind. Let it be like Jesus fame.
