Psalms 91:4 KJV
(4) He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Years ago a evangelist came to the church that I was at. He told a rather funny story about this verse. He had been preaching about it one night, how God wants to wrap you up and protect you like a mother bird wraps a baby up in her feathers to protect it. He told the people to get a picture of that and make it stick and if they felt they were in trouble to remember it.
That night a woman from the church he had been at was walking home and a mugger jumped out and started to attack her. She remembered what he had preached but could not remember the verse to quote it so she just started yelling 'feathers, feathers.' The mugger got scared of this woman and took off and as he was running attracted the attention of a police man driving by. He was arrested. When he talked to the lady afterwards he told her that she was acting like a lunatic and that is why he ran.
You know something, the verse did protect her even though she could not quote it by heart. All she needed was one word, one powerful word. Feathers.
Next time it seems the world is coming against you, just remember one word.
