For and against

June 8, 2009

The life of Jesus. Read Today: Jesus heals a mute demoniac; Matthew 9:32-34

Matthew 9:33-34 ESV
33 And when the demon had been cast out, the mute man spoke. And the crowds marveled, saying, “Never was anything like this seen in Israel.”
34 But the Pharisees said, “He casts out demons by the prince of demons.”

Do you know that no matter what you do for God, there will be some that are for you and some that are against you.  It always is going to happen, just as it did for Jesus. The people loved what they saw, but the leaders thought He did things through the power of Satan.

Does this mean that if people are against you that you must be doing something right. No. Just know that not everything will go smoothly. We seem to think that all is going to be a bed of roses when we become Christians. It is not.

Read for tomorrow: The 2nd rejection in Nazareth; Matthew 13:54-58; Mark 6:1-6
