How does God get His glory?

September 20, 2008

Today's verses are from a different point of view of the ones covered yesterday. The Lord had sent prophets to encourage the people to start rebuilding the temple. They did but only have much prodding. Now we come to the people looking at the Temple and they see but a shadow of the glory it had when Solomon built it. The people seem upset that it is not asglorious. But God tells them:

Haggai 2:8 Webster
(8) The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.

You see God could have pulled the money out of nowhere to build what He needed for Himself. What He really wants is for the people to glorify Him. In that way the Lord will be truly glorified.
